Although it is only 6 minutes long, The Heart of the World manages to fit in love triangle AND post-apocalyptic themes. Maddin somehow finds a way to perfectly recreate the look and feel of a silent film from the late 20s/early 30s. It was very exciting, the acting and the music were very fast paced. I was just in awe of how impeccably this short paid homage to that period in film. If you like Metropolis, and you can get ahold of this, I highly recommend it!Grade: A
